Avoiding the dentist?
Our Sleep dentistry is now even safer than ever.
There is a substitute for narcotic medications we now use in IV/Sleep sedation. Of course we continue to use Versed™, and for when we need more profound relaxation or pain control for the patient we add Nubain ™ instead of narcotics. The benefit to you is that it is safer, makes the visit seem to go even faster for you, there is more amnesia, and there are not the complications that come from narcotics.

The Problems with Topical Anesthetic or
Why we don't use topical on our patients?
The main reason we do not use it is because it is messy for the patient and it creates in the patient a psychological anticipation problem of pain & fear of a shot coming.

Topical makes some patients gag, creates a messy excess saliva problem, numbs the lip area and mouth area where patient does not need it, and it slows the procedure time so the patient has to be in chair longer.

Instead we can use relaxing gas or twilight sleep. In our office you can even enjoy an adult beverage to help you relax before we take you back to the treatment room. (Assuming you are an adult of course). We encourage patients to have a light snack and take a couple of Advil (or other OTC pain med) an hour before visit. Patients, in anticipation of the office visit, often avoid eating and the result is hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia affects the brain first makes patients jittery and less pain resistant even if the patient has no dental phobia. Of course if you insist on topical you can still have it your way.

Xtip Anesthesia
We now have available a special anesthetic technique that helps patients get numb faster and for those or are "resistant" to novocaine solves that problem. The Xtip is more comfortable for the patient than the standard mandibular block dentists have been taught in school. The Xtip focuses the anesthetic exactly where we want it and results in less local anesthetic use and faster onset.

The New Epidemic: Acid Erosion
Part of our modern life style and diet. To learn more go to our FrontPage.

New reduced time root canals and crown preps.
What is in it for you?
We do our root canal treatments and crown preparations in half the time of most dental offices. The advantage to our patients is that it saves them time; they are able to get more done in and in fewer appointments. There is less post appointment "chair fatigue" & more comfort.

This method is NOT cheaper for the practice. Training is required, more drills and special drills are needed, more disposable instruments (safer for patient), and higher quality supplies are required to do this for the patient. We feel when the patient spends less time as well as the Dental Team, (less Team fatigue, like less patient fatigue) everyone wins.

Single Stage Implants
We have done our first implant surgery and simultaneous abutment placement. What does that mean for you? It means we are now able to place an implant without having to have a second stage surgery to uncover the implant. The result is less treatment time and more comfort for the patient and getting the crown sooner.
