Physical therapy: A light smile sort of a
half smile. Do this for one minute three to five times a day with
your teeth separated. It is not so easy. This exercise develops the
facial muscles The result is a more attractive pleasing face. You
will be perceived more positively. When we concentrate so hard on
our work and our problems we tend to frown and clench our teeth. Contrary
to the cliche. It takes more muscle to smile.
If you are a tooth grinder, have stains on the edges of your front
teeth, have a deficient jaw or your bite is closing down then a night
guard or bite opening appliance may be of benefit to you.
Pursing the lips as in kissing. Ten times a day. As often as you like
as long as you like. This develops the orbicularis or lip muscle and
reduces sagging in the front face.
Work at keeping your teeth separated. Biting or clenching only develops
the masseters makes your cheeks look fatter. And it tends to overclose
your bite and hide those fabulous lips.
For photos: separate the teeth and smile so that your lower lips touches
the incial edges of your upper teeth.
There is the Facial Flex a physical therapy device for toning . The
manufacturer claims that it develops thirty muscle groups and
noticeable
results can be seen in 8 weeks. My staff and I are trying it out.
If you think it works for us then you might be interested. First see
our before pictures. We will do some after photos in about June. If
it does not seem to work then perhaps it just does not really work,
or the photos can not discern the difference, or maybe it is difficult
to stay up with the exercises. You be the judge.
